Our Team
Since our founding in 2023, Avery's Helpful Hair Kits, NFP has brought to life Avery's vision of providing essential haircare items to foster children with highly-textured hair. Our partnerships to date include: GiveNKind, Ampro Industries, Lydia Home Evanston, Softee Products, LushUs Haircare, MKS Products, and CurlyKids haircare. Avery's Helpful Hair Kits, NFP is a 501(c )(3) nonprofit organization registered with the IRS.

Founder
At just 8 years old, Avery started Avery's Helpful Hair Kits to provide essential haircare products and supplies for children with highly-textured hair who are in foster care. She loves to create art of all kinds, dance, listen to music, and play with her friends and family.

Avery's Mama
Petina Dixon-Jenkins has a journalism degree from Northwestern University, background in radio and TV, and two decades of nonprofit communications experience. She most recently completed an Executive Nonprofit Management certificate program made possible by the Allstate Foundation and powered by Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
